Antoine Martinez is a Light-attribute Stacker hunter. He naturally possesses the Stacker’s core ability—attribute infusion—and provides additional support through core attacks and healing allies with the final hit of every skill. Furthermore, he offers the damage-dealing capabilities essential for Stackers, along with ally buffs and enemy debuffs to increase overall damage output.
While Antoine’s base abilities are solid, his versatility is lower than existing Stackers because the recent update reorganized Light-attribute hunters into specialized roles. While Thomas’ party is now more specialized for Break, Akari Shimizu and Cha Hae-in have been rebuilt to synergize perfectly with Antoine.
Antoine Martinez: Key Features
Think of Antoine as a classic Stacker enhanced with support abilities like healing. He provides supplemental damage while applying attribute infusion, granting allies various buffs—such as healing, shields, defense penetration, and damage increases—and inflicting a ‘damage taken’ debuff on enemies.
His ultimate skill applies a continuous heal to allies that lasts for a full minute, maximizing team survivability. While his team-wide buffs have a relatively short 15-second duration, this is not a significant penalty because Antoine is a Stacker.
Stackers exist primarily to facilitate ‘Overload,’ and since Overload itself is a 15-second burst damage window, a 15-second buff duration is perfectly adequate. You can consider his buffs to be timed for the Overload window, while his survival-oriented buffs remain active at all times.
Basic Operation: Q – Core – E – Ultimate – Enhanced Q (then tag out)
Antoine is designed so that using one skill enhances the next. Start by using Q to activate his core attack; after the core attack, Q becomes enhanced. From there, unleash E, his ultimate, and the enhanced Q before tagging him out.
Using the ultimate after E is recommended because, at 5-star evolution, his skills gain an effect that reduces the ultimate’s cooldown. If your ultimate is already ready, the order of E and the ultimate doesn’t matter much. However, it is best to use the enhanced Q last, as it is a channeling skill.
Because it is a channeling skill, if you hold the button while tagging to the next character, Antoine remains on the battlefield to finish his full attack sequence before exiting. This minimizes the time loss that occurs when switching characters after triggering Overload.
Additionally, Antoine possesses a debuff shared by some Light-attribute hunters called ‘Extinguishing Light’ (Myeolgwang). It deals damage equal to 50% of the target’s max HP every 3 seconds. It can stack up to 10 times; naturally, since this is based on the caster’s HP, it does not mean the enemy dies in 3 seconds.
Gradual Support Enhancement: Recommended Evolutions
Antoine’s support capabilities grow as his evolution level increases. At 1-star, he starts with 50% Power Gauge, and using Q restores the Core Gauge to 100%, making his rotation more flexible. Additionally, he gains a self-buff that increases his own firepower after a core attack, and his ultimate gains the ‘Rampart’ effect, which grants a shield and continuous healing to the ally with the highest combat power.
At 3-star evolution, the team’s firepower increases significantly. His Q and enhanced Q gain the ‘Holy Light’ debuff, which increases the damage enemies take, while E gains an effect that grants allies defense penetration and damage buffs. His self-buffs are also slightly improved, boosting his own damage.
5-star evolution is the final form. His enhanced Q now adds a team-wide buff for normal skill damage and Overload damage. Core attacks and normal skills gain an ultimate cooldown reduction effect, allowing him to use his ultimate every time he enters the field. Furthermore, the ‘Rampart’ buff from his ultimate now includes a 30% critical damage increase and improved healing.
Ultimately, a 5-star Antoine functions almost like a sub-supporter, as his E, enhanced Q, and ultimate all provide damage-boosting buffs for the team. There is also a minor change where ‘Extinguishing Light’ now stacks 5 times at once when using Q, making it easier to build up stacks.
Light Attribute: Separating Break and Attribute Infusion – Party Composition
Unlike previous team compositions where you kept the dealer and supporter and only swapped the breaker, the update has moved toward separating teams into ‘Attribute Infusion’ specialists and ‘Break’ specialists.
Antoine’s best partners are Akari Shimizu and Cha Hae-in. Since the stat buff from Antoine’s 5-star ‘Causality’ buff is limited to Attack/HP, Thomas does not benefit from it. Furthermore, the Light-attribute rework added ‘Extinguishing Light’ stacking to Cha Hae-in and Akari Shimizu, and gave them additional buffs upon successful Overload, effectively redesigning the trio to be used together.
There are other reasons he isn’t used with Thomas. Thomas’ main supporter, Laura Walker, does not provide HP-related buffs, reducing synergy with Antoine. Additionally, Thomas and Laura Walker received improvements that further specialize them in Break-related effects.
In short, the compositions are now clearly divided: use Antoine + Cha Hae-in + Akari Shimizu for environments requiring attribute infusion, and Thomas + Go Gun-hee + Laura for environments requiring Break.
